Montreal + Kelly

So I thought I'd announce it here. Montreal and I are going steady. I am wearing its varsity jacket, its class ring...

I am completely smitten with Montreal, and spend long days staring into its beautiful buildings and nibbling on its croissants. But I am willing to share Montreal with others...I want to shout from the rooftops: "I love this city and I want everyone to know it!"

Ok, so the metaphor stops here, but might I say, I am so proud that tourists are filling the streets of this great city (as annoying as they'll be by Canada Day long weekend, on Victoria Day long weekend, they're still charming), and found myself grinning (perhaps creepily) at the hordes of tourists today.

I love its cheese (which would be gross if I was continuing the 'Montreal-as-human-being' metaphor), I love its buildings, I love its restaurants, and I even love its gentrified used clothing (vintage) stores.

Come to Montreal! I have a futon!

Hotel suite here I come!!!

So, it is my birthday. I am 31. And all I have to say is that I have the best friends EVER.

You see, I have a huge obsession with hotels. I LOVE staying in them. Love love. And this aftenoon, I found out that my peeps booked me into a juccuzi suite at the fancy pancy hotel here in Regina. BEST PRESENT EVER!!!! So, they take me over to the hotel room...it's huge...it's decorated for me...there are treats for me in the bathroom...snacks in the fridge...and all my favorite magazines waiting for me. I don't deserve this. Sigh....

Did I mention I love my friends...

My summer craft project

The first time I ever came across Danny Seo was when he was on HGTV's "She's Crafty". Danny was making these awsome little birdhouses out of old children's books.

These houses have been in the back in my head for a few months now...and I think this will be a summer project for me.

Crafting with vintage books and mod podge.....schwing!
